{Cheers} 2014!

I hope that everyone had a happy, safe and celebratory time ringing in the New Year and it was extended to the weekend! I know I had a great time celebrating with friends in a cozy cabin watching the snow fall.

I’ve thought a lot about my little quote from Friday about being happy and I am very optimistic about 2014… already there are so many wonderful events planned! I’m turning 25, I’m throwing my sister’s bachelorette weekend, my sister is marrying the love of her life, my other sister is graduating high school, and my brother is graduating from college! My parents are moving to start a new chapter in their life, I’m attending a huge conference for work in June, and it seems that my life just keeps getting better {and filled with more clothes}!

Cheers to 2014, I can’t wait to see whats in store!

Wise Words

“As far as I’m concerned leopard is a neutral”

…was said by a very wise wise lady… the very chic creative director Jenna Lyons. And the way I see it, if Jenna Lyons says leopard is a neutral, then leopard is a neutral. These pants have been a staple in my closet since the minute I bought them. I wish I could say the same for this sweater. It’s one of those items that doesn’t get worn enough. I love the colors and I’m still a fan of chevron print, and it’s short sleeved, but it is thick. I’m talking I wasn’t even cold shooting these photos and it was in the 30’s. Hello winter, meet D.C.

Metallic

Funny story… I bought this shirt for the Legwarmers concert (an 80’s cover band) from H&M for $10! I thought I’d wear it once and it’d stay in my closet until I needed another metallic oversized tshirt. Well that day came again. On a work day nonetheless! I am loving the metallic trend right now and when I had NOTHING to wear one morning and was digging through my drawer, I found this gem on the bottom. Throw on some shoes and a long necklace and this tshirt has a new place, at the top of the stack!
