Trends… A general direction in which something is developing or changing. Fitting that for each season a new set of trends makes its debut. 2012’s fall trends are something that I’m actually pretty excited about, mostly because there’s nothing too crazy that people won’t actually wear. This past spring peplum tops, skirts, and dresses starting popping up and it appears it is here to stay. I love how girly and fun a lace peplum top can be, and depending if you want to dress it up or down, pair it with a pencil skirt or skinny jeans for a perfect put together look. As far as colors go, gold is the color that I bet we’ll be seeing a lot more of this season and it doesn’t have to be restricted to just jewelry. Grab a pair of gold studded loafers for a fun weekend shoe or go for a more regal look in a brocade skirt, woven with thick gold thread. If you want to try some mixing and matching pair a brocade skirt with a button up that sports an embellished collar. And fear not, if you can’t find a button up, individual collars are available to spice up any outfit. Burgundy coats can be thrown on top of any outfit. The color is rich, transitional and beats the traditional black or tan jacket that we’ve seen in seasons past. If you’re more into prints, replace your cheetah and go bold with a reptile print. Snake skin is super flattering as it elongates and usually in monochrome colors. A reptile print skirt, white blouse, and cap toe heels would be a perfect fall work outfit that can easily convert to an evening look. The greatest thing about these falls trends is they’re all able to work together. No outliers in this group. Mix, match, switch and have fun!
