Apple Pies To-Go

I am so excited that it is fall… And of course for all the fall activities and food that come with the season. I planned a wine tasting for a group of girlfriends (which will be on the blog soon) and since it was on the first day of fall I wanted to try and make simple, super fallish, snacks! Well when I think of fall I automatically think of apple pie. The problem is- pie isn’t really a “bring in a limo to the vineyard” type of food so I had to reconstruct.

You’ll need:
Pie crusts
Melted Butter
3 large apples (any kind you bake with, I picked three different kinds)

Let the pie crusts thaw, but make sure they’re still firm
Cut the pie crusts in circles, squares, hearts or whatever shape you want!
Cut up the apples in think small squares
Mix the cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar together
Combine the cinnamon/nutmeg/sugar mix with the sliced apples
Spoon the apple mixture in the middle of the pie and place the other pie cut out on top
Use a fork to press the top and bottom pie crusts together
Cut 4 holes in the top to let the pie vent when baking

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Brush the melted butter on top of the pie crust and sprinkle some sugar mix
Bake the pies for 15-20 minutes or until a slightly golden brown
